I live in the small village of Yungaburra in the hinterland of Cairns, North Queensland.  I love living in a small community where I know and am known by most people.  The climate is great and lots of tourists visit for that reason.  We are surrounded by rainforest and open sclerophyll forest with mountain crater lakes nearby and abundant wildlife.  So contact with  nature is a part of everyday life and that is reflected in my work.

However many of these paintings were created in earlier times when I lived in even closer proximity to nature, at Topaz, one of the wettest places in Australia, with daily access to an unspoiled national rainforest park.  That and the farm dam and feeder creek, provided much material for painting.  It was there too that I created the Blossoming series for a solo exhibition in Cairns Regional Gallery.

Later work includes the portraits.  In particular, Red Ones Go Faster and Touchdown have captured movement and vitality, which I am finding more and more interesting.  Elements of that appear in the Blossoming paintings and I have been working on developing that aspect in recent times.

A new development is the production of decorator items using prints of thes original paintings, often with pretty spectacular results.  These will be available for sale through this page soon.
